Client Liaison Officer

Latis Scientific Ltd. are looking to recruit a Client Liaison Officer in order to efficiently manage and resolve customer queries, while providing a high quality service that is fundamental to the business philosophy of the Company.

As a Client Liaison Officer, you will be responsible for managing all of the day to day administration of your designated client group and will build relationships with your customers and understand the dynamics of their businesses and structure of each respective client.

Duties of the role will also include:
• Managing inquiries for the designated client group and ensuring all customer queries are acknowledged and resolved in a timely manner
• Ensuring reports are issued to clients in a timely manner
• Escalating if queries are outside the technical abilities of the CLO, passing on the query to the appropriate member of staff and informing the client of progress.
• Managing customer complaints for the designated client group, ensuring that all customer complaints are logged and the appropriate paperwork is passed onto the Quality Manager for investigation.
• Overseeing delivery and receipt of samples and their booking in and investigating any missing samples or consignments.
• Managing contract reviews to ensure the correct analysis is completed and sample information is correct.
• Liaising with the respective laboratory managers to ensure completion of work.
• Managing client price-books and prepare quotations where applicable.
• Investigating new client requests and discuss with the sales team where applicable.

The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level (or equivalent) and will have previous experience of working in a laboratory environment. The role requires a proactive candidate who has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, who has the ability to provide excellent customer service and is able to represent the Company in a confident and professional manner. Working knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as experience of working with databases, is also essential.

Cleaner – Laboratory

Latis Scientific Ltd are looking to recruit a Cleaner – Laboratory in order to efficiently manage sample disposal.

The Cleaner is responsible for but not limited to:-

• Dispose of samples in a Laboratory environment
• Make sure all glassware and equipment is clean and ready to use
• Tidy up laboratory after each practical, remove dirty glassware and any solutions that may be left over.
• Ensuring that cleaning procedures are followed routinely and departures or changes are brought to the attention of the Senior Scientific Officer or Laboratory Manager
• Undertake data entry and organisation of samples received by organisation
• To uphold and comply with the statutory provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation and policies or procedures relating to Health & Safety at work.

The ideal candidate should be hard-working, reliable and trust-worthy, with great attention to detail and a genuine willingness to help out whenever needed. It is essential that the candidate is able to work on their own initiative.

Registration Officer

Latis Scientific Ltd are looking to recruit a Registration Officer in order to efficiently manage and resolve customer queries, while providing a high quality service that is fundamental to the business philosophy of the Company.

As a Registration Officer, you will be responsible for registering, receiving and sending a range of samples for analysis and investigation. You will need to develop and maintain knowledge of standard operating procedures ensuring that procedures are followed and notify other relevant employees when this has not been complied with.

The Registration Officers are responsible for but not limited to:
• Pre-logging samples on AIS LIMS to produce pre-logged bottle labels.
• Packing and labelling bottles/ media/ kits as per clients request
• Booking customer bottle deliveries
• Monitoring client bottle requests via the couriers to ensure that they are delivered, and chasing failed deliveries
• Ensuring samples are received and recorded in the laboratory
• Sorting and prioritising samples for processing
• Undertaking data entry using a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) with minimal mistakes according to UKAS requirements
• Scanning and attaching photos and paperwork onto the LIMS system
• Recording and entering results and maintaining records
• Undertaking training of registration officers.
• Upholding and complying with the statutory provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation and policies or procedures relating to Health & Safety at Work.
• The Scientific Officers will uphold and comply with the requirements of International Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 ‘General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories’.

The ideal candidate will hold a GCSE or A Level equivalent in a science related subject, have experience of data entry and have excellent attention to detail. The successful candidate will need an adaptable approach to completing tasks, the ability to follow procedures and excellent customer service skills.

Operations Assistant

As an Operations Assistant at Latis Scientific, you’ll be part of a team that provides a holistic service in the water industry. We are committed to helping customers reduce their impact on the environment and maximising the return on their investments.

The Operations Assistant will provide a cross-functional supportive role for a variety of core business units, including Logistics, IT, Quality, technical and also assist with the implementation of projects across the business.

The role will be focused on:

• Working closely with the Operations and Production teams to improve and control processes across the company, with the aim of meeting efficiency performance targets and customer expectations.
• Plan, organise and help deliver projects in line with quality, time and budgetary requirements.
• Report on activities and provide relevant performance information to the Operations Director.
• Provide general assistance to different teams with implementing client requests

We are looking for candidates with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages specifically, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Excellent interpersonal skills are also key as are excellent communication skills specifically the ability to influence staff, clients and various stakeholders at different levels.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and organised and have a confident and professional approach to work at all times. Qualified to degree level or equivalent in suitable discipline – Business Operations, Scientific. Preferably candidates will have experience of working within a laboratory with an understanding of quality management systems, alongside Lean methodology also desirable.

• Implementing all aspects of the Quality Management System and associated documentation and to notify Senior Scientists and/or Laboratory Manager of any departure from the Quality Management System and procedures so that reparation can be made.
• Undertake data entry using a Laboratory Information Management System
• Undertake training of scientific technicians
• To uphold and comply with the statutory provision of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation and policies or procedures relating to Health & Safety at Work.
• The Scientific Officers will uphold and comply with the requirements of International Standard EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 ‘General Requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories’.
